This ring is made using "ropes" of silver clay which were rolled out and draped on a mandrel. A Citrine stone was placed in the center. Citrine can come in yellow and orange colors. Decorative ropes were arranged on either side of the stone. Small leaves of silver clay were pressed onto the sides of the stone along with a silver ball.

After refining, the ring was kiln fired for 2 hours at 1650F. I burnished 24K Gold foil on the leaves surrounding the Citrine to make the colors pop! The technique of adding gold is called Keum boo an ancient Korean technique.

I love the way this turned out, very delicate looking yet sturdy.
